Italy’s private debt and NPEs weekly round-up. News from Unicredit, Omnia Technologies, Investindustrial, Latteria Soresina, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, UTP Italia, Intrum, Arrow Global, and more

 UniCredit provided Temi, an Italian logistic company that has the exclusive licence for GLS in Naples area, with a 12 million euros facility with the Green warranty of SACE and Farvima Medicinali, a distributor of drugs, with a 5 million facility (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Temi will invest the resources in the construction of a 26000 sqms terminal by 2025. Farvima will invest the loan proceed in the development of a sustainable logistic pole of 11000 sqms.

UniCredit provided Italian packaging company Omnia Technologies (fka DT Holding), a portfolio firm of Investindustrial, with a 2.7 million euros facility with the SACE warranty (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The company will invest such resources in the acquisition and development of five photovoltaic plants for its production sites. Andrea Stolfa is the ceo di Omnia Technologies.

Italian dairy company Latteria Soresina received a 30 million euros blockchain-based credit line from Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and Gruppo Bancario Cooperativo Iccrea (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The lenders appointed CBA as advisor. Latteria Soresina has sales of 480.6 million, an ebitda of 15 million and a net financial debt of 108 million. Michele Falzetta is the coo of Soresina.

UTP Italia, a fund that Intrum Italy launched with Arrow Global, Sagitta and Zenith Service acquired two portfolios worth a total of 520 million euros (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Gruppo BCC Iccrea and other banks sold the portfolios. UTP Italia has now 700 million of assets under management.

BPER Banca and its subsidiary Banco di Sardegna sold to AMCO a portfolio of UTPs with a face value of 430 million euros and achieved a gross NPE ratio of 2.6% (net NPE 1.1%) (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The trasaction is part of the agreement that BPER, AMCO and Gardant, a subsidiary of Elliott, signed in 20222 for the management of the bank’s NPEs

Milan-listed Banca Ifis acquired Revalea, an investor in NPLs, from Compass (part of Mediobanca) (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The transaction is part of the partnership that Banca Ifis and Mediobanca signed for investing in NPLs. MBCredit Solutions will support Banca Ifis for the management and recovery of NPLs. Revalea’s portfolio has a face value of 6.8 billion euros. Gian Luca Sichel is the ceo of Compass Banca.

Finint Investments‘s 38 funds have aum of 4 billion euros, +11% yoy (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Finint is launching PMI Italia, a private debt vehicle, and Principal Finance which aims to focus on performing and distressed assets of Italian financial and industrial firms. Mauro Sbroggiò is the ceo of Finint Investment. Ivonne Forno, Luca Dondi dall’Orologio and Margherita Marchi joined the board of directors of which are already part Paolo Gabriele, Leonardo Pagni, Giovanni Perissinotto, and Sbroggiò.

Azimut Libera Impresa completed the acquisition of Next Imaging, a platform for the distribution of artificial vision systems that Ambienta created in 2018 (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Ambienta (77.7%), Milena Longoni, Marco Diani, Paolo Longoni, Fabrizio Ricchetti, and Michael Troiano sold their stakes to Azimut Libera Impresa. The managers will keep their roles and reinvest for a minority. ALI financed the transaction with the support of Banco BPM, BPER Banca and Banca IFIS and a bond that Merito subscribed. Chiomenti, Cozen O’Connor, EY Parthenon, EY, ERM, Chiaravalli Reali e Associati, and BC& Studio di Consulenza Societaria Tributaria Legale assisted the buyer. The lenders and Merito retained Simmons & Simmons. Ambienta hired Lincoln International, Goetzpartners, Portolano Cavallo; Gianni & Origoni, Calfee, Halter & Griswold, and PwC. The founders hired Mara Sartori, Caterina Tiziana Belviso and Oliver Pucillo Furer.

Troubled Italian football club Sampdoria attracted the offer of British Aser Capital Limited and Gestio Capital that aims to pay up to 45% of unsecured credits (see here a previous post by BeBeez). The bidders need the approval of 60% of creditors.

Credit Factor announced the acquisition of CAS, a portfolio of NPLs with a face value of 360 million euros from an Italian bank (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Credit Factor is an even joint venture of Banca Capasso (part of IBL Banca) and Europa Factor. Banca Capasso carried on a securitization of the portfolio while Europa Factor acted as special servicer. In 2023, Credit Factor aims to carry on investments for 80 million.

Clessidra Capital Credit won the auction for acquiring Value Italy (fka MPS Capital), a private capital fund, and is waiting for the authorization of Banca d’Italia for the closing (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Marco Canale heads Value Italy which reportedly attracted the interest of Castello. The fund has aum of 550 million euros and a nav in the region of 170 million with a cash of 20 million. In 2022, Clessidra Capital Credit’s Clessidra Private Debt has a turnover of 131.2 million (+43% yoy) (see here a previous post by BeBeez).

Azimut ELTIF – Private Debt Capital Solutions (PDCS), a fund that Muzinich manages, acquired the brand a plant of DOpla, an Italian producer of single-use tableware, from the Levada Family (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Studio Giovanardi, KPMG and F&PML assisted PDCS. Dopla is in receivership since the end of 2021. PDCS previously financed the company and is ready to invest up to 20 million euros in the asset.

In 2022, Sagitta (fka Vegagest) generated profits of one million euros with a turnover of 4.7 million (+75% yoy) and an ebitda that grew by 303% yoy (see here a previous post by BeBeez). Sagitta equity is worth 6.5 million (5.5 million). Europa Investimenti acquired the asset in 2017 for carrying on a turnaround of the business. In 2018, London-based Arrow Global Group acquired Europa Investimenti.
